USP44 is a member of the USP subfamily of DUBs. DUBs are categorized into 5 subfamilies: USP, UCH, OTU, MJD, and JAMM. USP44 may regulate the spindle assembly checkpoint by preventing early anaphase onset.YSP44 deubiquitinates CDC20, which stabilizes the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome.
