CB-5083 is a potent ATPase activity inhibitor of p97. p97 (also called VCP) is an AAA-ATPase that plays an important role in various cellular functions including ER-associated degradation. CB-5803 induces significant unfolded protein response and apoptosis of various cancer cells. P97 is orally active and currently in clinical trials for relapsed multiple myeloma.
