PMSF

PMSF (phenylmethylsulfonyl Fluoride) is a serine protease inhibitor that reacts with the catalytic serine residue of trypsin, chymotrypsin, thrombin and papain at the concentration of 0.1-1 mM. PMSF has a relatively short life time in aqueous solutions (~ 50 min), it should be added in each protein purification step.
