SBI-0206965 is a potent inhibitor of the autophagy kinase ULK1. It inhibits ULK1 and ULK2 kinases with IC₅₀ of 108 nM and 711 nM, respectively. ULK1 is a serine/threonine kinase acting upsteam of PI3K to regulate the formation of autophagophores, the precursors of autophagosomes, in response to nutrient deprivation. SBI-0206965 suppresses ULK1-mediated phosphorylation events in cells, regulating autophagy and cell survival.
